OLIS, Emil Peter Jr.
Emil Peter Olis, Jr., 62, of Martinsburg, WV, passed away on Friday, August 30, 2013 at Winchester Medical Center. Born December 6, 1950 in New Britain, he was the son of Emil Peter Olis and Eugenia Theresa Adamowicz Olis. He was employed as an accountant for the Salvation Army. He retired from Aetna Life and Casualty in Hartford. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed following the New York Yankees and Giants, and loved traveling throughout the Caribbean and enjoyed visiting all the beaches. He also enjoyed outdoor activities including gardening, hiking and yard work. He also enjoyed working out at the Wellness Center. Recent highlights of Emil include the birth of his granddaughters and also volunteering with the Salvation Army aiding victims of Hurricane Katrina. He enjoyed volunteering wherever he was needed. He is survived by his wife, Roberta Rannenberg Olis; three daughters, Rachel Wemette, Heather Olis and Kate Conway; five grandchildren, Caitlin and Savanna, Caroline, Olivia, and Lillian; four brothers, John, Mike, Frank and Paul Olis; eight sisters, Linda Olis, Jean Donahue, Bev Olis, Carol Olis, Teresa Olis, Diane Anderson, Nancy Olis and Dawn Peck; loving mother-in-law, Dolores Matchett; and also many, many, many brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Emil Peter Olis Jr., 62, of Martinsburg, W.Va., passed away on Aug. 30 at a hospital in Winchester, W.Va.

Born in New Britain, he attended local schools and Central Connecticut State University.

He is survived by his loving wife, Roberta Rannenberg Olis; three daughters, Rachel Wemette, Heather Olis and Kate Conway and five granddaughters. He was the loving son of Emil and Eugenia Olis of New Britain; eight sisters, Linda Olis, Jean Donahue, Beverly Olis, Carol Spitko, Teresa Olis, Diane Anderson, Nancy Olis and Dawn Peck; four brothers, John, Michael, Frank and Paul; brother and sister-in-laws, Aunt Joanne Pylant and husband, Frank; and the late Uncle Henry Olis; many nieces and nephews and cousins.

He was retired from Aetna in Hartford and was an accountant for the Salvation Army in Martinsburg. Emil was ready to help anyone in need. He volunteered to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

There are no calling hours. A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, Sept. 14, at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Church, located on the corner of Farmington Avenue and Biruta Street in New Britain. Burial will be private in Martinsburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to charities of your choice.
