Bernard P. “Bernie” Sharasheff, 62, of Farmington, Conn., husband of Patti (Rappanotti) Sharasheff and father of Rachel and Paige, passed away Friday, July 19, 2013, after a truly courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. His family was by his side.

Born September 30, 1950, in New Britain, to Phyllis and the late Phillip Sharasheff, Bernie was the owner and President of New Britain Sales Company, retiring in 2008. He was a graduate of Pulaski High School, class of 1968, and an outstanding athlete.

In addition to his wife, Patti, he is survived by his daughters, Rachel and Paige, who were truly the loves of his life. He is also survived by his mother, Phyllis Sharasheff, of Farmington, sister Marcia Ahern and her husband, Donald, of Newington, Conn., sister Shari Sharasheff of Farmington, and his sister Darci Haun, of Yardley, Pa., sisters-in-law Dale Grant of Newington, Pam Rappanotti of New Britain, and many nieces, nephews, aunts and friends. He was predeceased by his step-father Walter Jaeger and two nephews, Bryan Ahern and Phillip Haun. Bernie was an avid golfer and a die-hard Yankees fan.

Friends and family are invited to attend a period of visitation on Tuesday, July 23, from 4-7 p.m. at New Britain Memorial — Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 24, at 9 a.m. at the funeral home, with a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, 110 Main St. Farmington. Burial to follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain.
