In Memory

Aurore C. Paradis (Frasier)

Dawn (Aurore) Frasier, 72, of New Britain, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2022, after a long courageous battle with lung cancer. She was surrounded by family when she went to see Jesus. She was born Nov. 4, 1949, in Frenchville, ME, and was the daughter of the late Lucien and Rosalie (Ouellette) Paradis.

Dawn finished her education in the New Britain schools, and graduated from Pulaski High School in 1968. She went on to work at Pratt and Whitney in South Windsor. She was hired to work for State of Connecticut and earned her LSW license. She retired after over 30 years of service.

After retirement, she travelled quite a bit, mostly with family and friends. She also did a lot of volunteer work, especially with her church, where her singing voice really shined, singing the chosen hymns of the day. Her and sister, Terry would sing two of their favorite songs; “The Old Rugged Cross” and “One Day at a Time” at funerals. Along with being an active member of her church, Dawn went on numerous missions to help serve people. Dawn was such a kind and compassionate person and really enjoyed helping people in any way she could.

She was also a member of the New Britain Senior Center, where she was involved in numerous activities, especially “Penny Bingo”. Dawn’s artistic abilities also shined bright in her paintings, sewing, crocheting, and quilting, where she would make collectible Christmas and Holiday cards with the help of sisters Christine and

Theresa. She didn’t have children, but was a mother figure to many; some would call her “Momma Dawn”. She was extremely loving and caring to all those that shared in her life and to those that she had just met.

She is survived by her five siblings; sisters, Jeannine St. Peter and husband Greg of Fort Kent, ME, Christine Abucewicz of New Britain, Theresa Mattheeussen and husband Joe of New Britain; brothers, Ben Paradis and wife Nancy of Cross Lake, ME and Camille Paradis of Carthage, TN. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her sisters Jeanne Paradis and baby Rose along with brothers, Gerry, Leonard, Sylvio, Paul, Roger, and baby Lucien Leonard Paradis.
